Why Does the Semi Trailer Beam Break?

The beam is the most important part of the semi trailer, and its importance is self-evident. No one wants their semi trailer to break the beam, so what are the reasons for the semi trailer to break the beam? Here is a summary of the reasons for the broken beam of the semi trailer. You can take a look and try to avoid it when buying or using a semi trailer in the future.

1. Product quality problems produced by semi trailer factory

(1) Inferior steel for semi trailer girders

The most direct and easy-to-understand reason is that the quality of the beam steel used by the semi-trailer factory is not good enough to carry the designed load, causing the beam to break.

(2) Reduce the size of the girder

In order to save costs, the semi trailer factory cut corners and mainly reduced the specifications of the girders. Originally it was a 14-thick steel plate, but it was reduced to 10-thickness. However, the user does not know and also pulls the goods according to the load capacity of 14 thickness. The girder is overloaded for a long time, and it is reasonable to break.

(3) Connect to the web of the girder

In addition to reducing the size of the girders, in order to save costs, some poor trailer manufacturers have connected the webs of the girders by two shorter steel bars, which are definitely much worse than the whole ones in terms of bearing capacity. It can be said that the beam is "broken" as soon as it leaves the factory, and users should pay attention to inspection when purchasing a car.

(4) The welding is not well welded

In addition to the fracture of the web, the girder also has the phenomenon of cracking of the lower wing plate. There are two main reasons for this. One is the technical problem of the welder, and the other is that the voltage is not stable during welding, and the welding is not done well.

(5) Flickering by unscrupulous salesmen

In fact, in addition to the reasons for so many manufacturers mentioned above, there is another point that must be paid attention to: to prevent being fooled by some bad salesmen. In order to make more money and grab orders, the price was too low, and the original semi trailer did not make money or even lost money, so they did something about the configuration of the semi trailer.

First, reduce the configuration of the semi-trailer. Originally, it was agreed that the semi-trailer could pull 50 tons, but it actually dropped to 30 tons, and the beam of the semi-trailer was broken. Second, in the production of the newly built small factory, the materials and technology of the small factory are not mature, and a series of problems such as inferior steel and cutting corners may occur, and the probability of beam breakage is greatly increased.

2. Reasons for the use of semi trailer users

(1) Overload or even concentrated load

In addition to the above reasons for the semi trailer factory, many broken beams are caused by improper use by users. The most common reason is long-term overloading, which is easy to understand. The cargo capacity exceeds the designed value of the trailer, and the beam can not bear the weight of the cargo, resulting in breakage. Then there is the concentrated load. Especially for the light-body trailers that are popular now, the concentrated load trailers are easy to break the beam.

(2) Welding operation on the girder

It is also strictly prohibited to weld on the semi trailer frame. Most of the current trailer beams are high-strength steel. High-strength steel is easy to anneal when encountering strong current, and the beam is easy to break after annealing.

(3) The girders in mountainous areas bear too much twisting force

The beams of semi trailers that often run in mountainous areas are easy to break. The girders of the semi trailer running on the mountainous area bear much more twisting force than those running on the flat road. The upper and lower wings and webs of the girder must be larger in size, otherwise the girder will be easily broken.
